Nike's Colin Kaepernick ad will air during the NFL season opener tonight.  Nike says the ad will run this week during the U.S. Open, Major League baseball games, and college football as well.

A gushing USA Today story claims “the move has…spurred consumers to rally around the company on social media, and will likely boost its popularity with younger consumers who want to patronize businesses that take a stand.”

But, a new poll shows devastating results for Nike’s move. The Axios poll finds Nike’s favorability numbers “dropped 34 points” from 76% to 60% favorable views.

The day after their Kapernick announcement, Nike stocks fell three percent as people all over social media blasted the company for the decision.
