Woman Credits Her Faith after Tire Flies through SUV Windshield in Near-Death Crash

“I’ve always learned that whatever is in you is what will come out of you. When I saw the tire approaching, I just remember saying ‘Jesus’ three times. Based on what my beliefs are, when you call on Him, He will answer,” Tonya said. “And I believe He answered me that morning.”

Who Is This ‘Angel,’ Tonya Young?

When the paramedics opened the ambulance doors for Tonya, they told her they wanted to see the “angel” who survived such a dangerous incident. She was in shock and couldn’t remember what happened after she spoke Jesus’ name.

Tonya did suffer some injuries, including glass that became embedded in her chest. She doesn’t think she will be ready to drive again very soon, but she’s grateful to God for saving her life.

A Tragic Accident a Week Earlier

Only one week earlier, her neighbor passed away in a similar accident. For Tonya, her survival affirms her faith in Christ.

“She didn’t make it — and I did,” Tonya said. “So it gives me a different perspective on life, how I see it, and I am beyond grateful.”

 

Miguel Dominguez, an attorney, is helping Tonya get restitution. He believes a wheel coming off is a sign of human error.

God Is Good!

Praise God for saving Tonya’s life! It’s a blessing that no one else was in the car with Tonya and that no other vehicles were affected by the accident. What could have been a tragic day became one that Tonya will never forget—the moment she called Jesus’ name and he swiftly answered!
