Tuberculosis, flu, infections rampant among sick migrants at border

Border authorities are now referring at least 50 people a day for urgent medical care, including TB, flu and parasites among the migrant caravans at the U.S./Mexico border.  

The Washington Times reports a top official said Monday it’s unlike anything they’ve ever seen before.

Customs and Border Protection is especially concerned that the majority of those in need of care are children, having been dragged along by parents who are hoping to use them both as an easy ticket into the U.S. and as a shield against speedy deportation.

CBP Commissioner Kevin McAleenan said most of those needing help were ill when they arrived at the border.

The numbers were released after a full review was done in the wake of the deaths of two illegal-immigrant children.
