A member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors wants to sue California because of the state’s sanctuary status.

The Washington Examiner reports, Shawn Nelson, of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, said on “Fox News Sunday” the decision by the state legislature to prohibit local authorities from turning over illegal immigrants to federal authorities puts police in a bind.

Nelson said, “We've had 244 people as of last week released that we could not stop, and our people could not tell ICE officials that we believe ICE would have wanted to speak with and likely wanted to do something about.”

Governor Jerry Brown pardoned five criminal illegal aliens Friday to prevent them from being deported.

Orange County joined the Trump administration in suing the state to keep the sanctuary state law from taking effect.
