Winning?

Dwayne Johnson is one of the most recognizable film stars working today but he might not be satisfied remaining on the big screen forever. In a recent interview, the Baywatch star noted that he would be open to running for president in just a few short years.

According to a recent GQ interview, the actor notes that he wasn't thinking seriously about a political future until a Washington Post op-ed suggested the idea last year. In the interview he states, "A year ago, it started coming up more and more. [It] made me go home and think, ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.’"

Not much is known about his political stances (or whether he would run as a Republican or a Democrat) but audiences do know about his unquestionable support for the military.

"Johnson frequently takes to social media to thank members of the armed forces," the GQ article notes, "specifically and in aggregate, for their service. In his patriotic hands, anything can—and will—become a tribute to the armed forces."

If he ultimately runs for office, he will join an eclectic group of celebrities who have sought political office. That group includes President Donald Trump, former President Ronald Reagan, Senator Al Franken, former Mayor Clint Eastwood and Governor Jesse Ventura.

Johnson's new movie Baywatch hits theaters on May 25th.
