USA Powerlifting recently made a decision that it would not allow biological males who claim to be transgender from participating in weightlifting events.

That decision prompted Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar to fire off a letter to Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, recommending he investigate USA Powerlifting.

The Daily Caller reports Omar called it a “myth” that men who identify as transgender women have a “direct competitive advantage” that is not backed by medical science and asked Ellison to “investigate this discriminatory behavior.”

Omar sent her letter on behalf of JayCee Cooper, one of Omar’s constituents and a biological male who claims to identify as a transgender woman.
