Virginia state Sen. Saddam Azlan Salim (D-Fairfax) has introduced legislation that would add a definition of “Islamophobia” to Virginia’s assault laws and require law enforcement agencies to track crimes allegedly motivated by anti-Islam bias. Senate Bill 624 would amend the state’s existing assault statute to define Islamophobia as “malicious prejudice or hatred directed toward Islam.” […]
