When You Need Help Carrying Responsibility | Your Nightly Prayer

There is a difference between enjoying solitude and carrying life alone.

A quiet hour can be restorative.

An empty room can feel peaceful.

Time away from noise can help us hear God more clearly.

But isolation is different.

Isolation tells us that our struggles should remain hidden.

That asking for help will inconvenience someone.

That strong people handle their own problems.

That everyone else is doing fine, so we should be able to manage too.

Eventually, responsibility can become so familiar that we stop noticing how heavy it has become.

Galatians 6 offers another way.

Paul tells believers to carry one another’s burdens.

Not observe them from a distance.

Not discuss them with everyone except the person struggling.

Not decide that their problem is none of our concern.

Carry them.

And sometimes, that means allowing another person to carry something for us.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

— Galatians 6:2
